build a driveway at soil retention

DRIVABLE GRASS®is a build a driveway permeable, flexible and plantable concrete pavement system manufactured from build a driveway poly-reinforced concrete. It is designed for use in areas where a permeable, build a driveway vegetated vehicle access or parking surface is required. Example applications include; emergency and service vehicle access lanes, overflow parking build a driveway areas, golf cart paths, patios, RV parking areas and build a driveway.

The concrete paving mat is designed to flex and conform to irregular ground surface contours along pre-defined linear grooves without build a driveway falling apart. Pre-manufactured holes and cracks allow for root penetration through the mat into subgrade soil, anchoring it firmly into place.  build a driveway The mat’s porous nature enables moisture to filter into the underlying soil, increasing on- build a driveway site storm water storage and minimizing off-site build a driveway water flow.  Even when saturated, DRIVABLE GRASS® maintains its load support characteristics and drivable, grassy, surface while minimizing wheel build a driveway rutting.

The test site was constructed on October 1, 2004.  Prior to grading the site for the test section, the build a driveway area was proof-rolled with a loaded water truck.  Construction of the test section was conducted by Soil Retention crews and was done under the direction of Dean Sandri, PE.  The “pavement section” consisted of the Drivable Grass (1.5 inch thickness) “wearing surface” underlain by a one-half to one inch thickness of sand leveling bed and a variable thickness of crushed miscellaneous base (CMB); all of which was placed directly on top of the existing sub-grade soils (See Figure 1).  A geotextile separator (Mirafi 140N) build a driveway was placed between the subgrade and aggregate base to ensure that mixing of the build a driveway two would be minimized.  build a driveway A rigid concrete apron was provided at each end of the test build a driveway section to transition vehicular traffic on and off of the pavement.  Below is a cross section of the test area build a driveway build a driveway.
